Burton A. Benson, M.D., is a Twin Cities native. He earned his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Biomedical emphasis) with high distinction from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology in 1979. He then attended Medical School at the University, earned his degree in 1983, and completed pediatric residency in 1986. After 11 years at the University he decided it was time to move to the suburbs and has practiced at the Wayzata Children's Clinic ever since. Dr. Benson's special interests include premature infants and children with allergies. He has been chairman of the Medicine Department of Children's Hospitals and Clinics — Minneapolis. Dr. Benson is board certified in Pediatrics, and completed requirements for voluntary re-certification in 2001. Burt and his wife Joan have two daughters and a son and live in Chanhassen. They enjoy skiing, biking, camping, and traveling.
Dr. Benson was selected as one of the “Top Doctors in the Twin Cities” in Mpls. St. Paul magazine in 2011.
