Ms. Thurston's special interests include acute and emergency care of athletic injuries, hockey injuries, concussions, and medical fitness for cancer patients. She is the program coordinator for Ridgeview Rehab Specialties. She also sees student athletes at Central and Mayer Lutheran high schools.
She has 20 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, including NCAA Division I and II athletic training experience with men's ice hockey, and women's soccer and softball, in addition to experience with USA Hockey and high school athletic training. She has worked in medical fitness for five years. She also provides exercise prescription for the bariatric/weight loss population.
She was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Nebraska, 1994-1995; staff certified athletic trainer for the St. Cloud State men's ice hockey team, 1995-2000; staff certified athletic trainer at the University of Nebraska Athletic Medicine Department, 2000-2002; and medical sales representative, 2002-2008.
She enjoys spending time with her family, taking her kids biking, working out and watching college hockey.
